Learning Circle with Prof. Missy Cummings

    Professor Missy Cummings is the director of Mason’s Autonomy and Robotics Center and a professor in George Mason University. She is an American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Royal Aeronautical Society Fellow and recently served as the senior safety advisor to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Cummings is one of US Navy’s first female fighter jet pilots, she served as a naval officer and a military pilot from 1988–1999.

    Professor Cummings spoke at the Shahzada Dawood Learning Circle (SDLC) on “Promises and Perils of Artificial Intelligence (AI)”. She explored in great length on what are the hinderances and what does the future look like for AI. She also talked about new jobs that AI will be creating in future and the need to rethink development and training models for our workforce to match the change.
